Terms of Service
Effective September 23, 2026 · Virtual Guruz LLC
These Terms govern your use of DoorSlate’s website, applications and related software services provided by Virtual Guruz LLC (DoorSlate, we, us). By creating an account or using DoorSlate, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
1. Your account and authority
Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. Use your own identity. An account works across supported DoorSlate platforms; access to a rental or organization depends on the permissions assigned to that account. You must have authority to act for an organization you manage and to provide information about other people. You must be able to enter a binding agreement to use DoorSlate.
2. DoorSlate’s role
DoorSlate provides software for organizing rental operations. We are not your property-management company, landlord, lawyer, tax adviser, payment processor or consumer-reporting agency. A DoorSlate account, invitation or access approval does not create a tenancy or amend a lease. Your agreements with landlords, tenants, applicants and vendors remain separate.
You remain responsible for the accuracy of records, rental decisions, notices, consents and compliance with requirements applicable to your activities. Reports and estimates depend on the records entered; they are not an audit or tax filing. Informational resources and templates are not legal advice or a guarantee of enforceability. Consult an appropriate government agency or qualified professional about your circumstances.
3. Subscriptions, trials and cancellation
Tenant and applicant DoorSlate membership is free. Paid organization features require DoorSlate Pro. Free account and initial portfolio setup do not start a trial. A trial begins only when you explicitly activate it and complete the required payment-method confirmation on the website. Web subscriptions are processed through Stripe and provide access to the same workspace in the mobile app without a separate mobile subscription.
The offer you confirm before purchasing identifies the price, billing interval, trial eligibility and renewal terms. Where offered and eligible, the trial lasts 14 days. Unless you cancel before its disclosed end, the subscription converts to paid service at the disclosed price and renews for the selected interval until canceled. Applicable taxes and trial eligibility are disclosed in the offer. No fee is charged merely for viewing an offer.
Manage your subscription through DoorSlate’s billing controls on the website. Deleting the app, signing out or requesting account deletion does not replace subscription cancellation. Cancellation ordinarily preserves access through the current paid period. Refund requests are handled by the billing provider and applicable law; these Terms do not remove mandatory refund rights. Material price changes will be disclosed before they apply as required by the applicable provider and law.
Payment processing, screening, listing-network charges and optional third-party services may have separate fees disclosed before use. DoorSlate subscription charges are separate from rent. If a subscription payment fails, access may become restricted after the applicable grace period. A payment failure does not itself cause permanent deletion of your rental records.
4. Payments and third-party services
External services are subject to their own terms, availability and approvals. Where enabled, payment providers handle payment credentials and processing. DoorSlate does not intentionally take custody of landlord rent funds. A submitted or processing payment is not a final successful payment and may fail, be returned or be disputed. Maintain appropriate independent records and verify transaction status.
5. Your content and permitted use
You retain your rights in information and documents you provide. You authorize us and our service providers to host, process, transmit and display that content as needed to operate DoorSlate, follow authorized sharing instructions, support you and protect the service. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content.
Only upload content you are authorized to use and share. Do not impersonate others, access another person’s rental without permission, upload malicious software, circumvent access controls, interfere with the service, or use DoorSlate for unlawful discrimination, fraud, harassment or other illegal activity. Do not upload card numbers, bank passwords or government identity documents into general notes or support messages.
6. Documents and communications
You decide which documents and records to share with other authorized participants. Sending an invitation, notification or message is not a guarantee of receipt or legally effective service. Electronic signatures, where available, require the separate consent and workflow presented for the document. Review the actual document and applicable requirements before relying on a signature or notice.
When you upload or reuse a lease template, you are responsible for your right to use it, its terms, required disclosures, completed details and suitability for the rental and applicable law. DoorSlate’s copying, filling and signature tools do not draft or approve your agreement and do not guarantee its legal validity. Review every page before sharing it or requesting signatures, and obtain qualified advice when needed.
A document copy is a separate record. Creating or editing a copy does not change an existing agreement, replace a signed copy or carry over signatures. Changes to an agreement require the parties’ approval and any new signatures or other steps required by their agreement and law. Identity review is not notarization or a guarantee against fraud.
7. Availability, suspension and ending use
Features can differ by platform, plan and provider availability. We may maintain or update the service and may restrict access to address security threats, unlawful use, violations of these Terms or unpaid subscriptions. Contact support to resolve an access issue. Export records you need to retain independently. Account closure and data requests are handled as described in the Privacy Policy; shared rental records may be subject to other parties’ retention rights and obligations.
8. Service limitations and disputes
To the extent permitted by applicable law, DoorSlate is provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation, a particular financial result, or suitability for every legal or business purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights, remedies or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. Contact support with a dispute so we can work toward a resolution. These Terms do not require binding arbitration or waive a right to bring a claim that applicable law provides.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as the service changes. The effective date identifies the current version. We will provide notice of material changes where required and obtain additional agreement when required. Contact Virtual Guruz LLC at support@doorslate.com about these Terms, billing or account assistance.
